My choice of watercolor encourages me to remain open to change. I enjoy the
transparency of watercolors; I feel connected to the fluidity of the water and paint.
Watercolor is so spontaneous. You have to work with what the paint gives you.
You have to let the painting keep evolving. I feel the most creative part of my work is putting the painting together…. I call this problem solving with imagination, and it always involves creating a story behind the painting.
I believe there are three stages to becoming an artist: The inspiration comes first. You maybe in spired by the works of others or just by the medium itself. Next, you must learn to master the techniques. Finally, you combine inspiration and techniques, begin painting in your own style, and choose subjects that are close to your heart.
I paint portraits, still life, florals, landscapes on paper and canvas.
I have 2 paintings that are extension paintings of my lighthouse STAMP and landscape POSTCARD.
