Artist, mARY Hoyer

My artistic background began with sewing and quilting which requires a sense of color, composition and vision to create each piece, whether using a template or working from your own photographs.
I was an active member with A-Z Quilting Guild in Peoria, the statewide Quilters Guild and also taught quilting classes prior to becoming interested in painting.
I began painting in 2011 using acrylics, dabbled in pastel but after using watercolor, I was hooked on that medium. The art I create using watercolor is primarily from my own travels and observations.
I joined the WBV Fine Arts Association this year (2016) and am inspired by the demo’s and workshops offered, as well as meeting other artists. I continue to take classes to learn and improve, such as watercolor classes at Arizona Art Supply in Sun City.
